Carbon Offsets from Haiti KONPAY

In the face of growing evidence of climate change, people all over the world are beginning to consider their own impact on the environment. Carbon offsetting is a process that allows people to make up for their own contribution to the destruction of the ozone layer by investing in projects like tree planting. These projects have a positive impact on the environment that offsets the negative impacts of our way of life.

There are countless reasons to support reforesting Haiti, and they fall across the spectrum from charity to responsibility. As you know, reforesting Haiti is a matter of life and death urgency for the majority of Haitian people. Haitian families are forced to cut down trees every day if they are going to eat, and they must face the bitter irony that in order to survive today they must destroy their hope of survival in the future.

KONPAY focuses on environmental projects because we recognize that without a intensive effort to restore the environment the majority of Haiti’s families will be forced to migrate to urban areas, and there is no hope for the future there. Noting the growing interest in carbon offsetting programs we’ve decided to create our own program.
