As our families and friends gather this holiday season, many of us will bring trees into our homes and enjoy a  meal with those we love. Instead of that expensive gadget that will be updated in a matter of months, this  year you can give gifts that have a lasting impact.

This year you can honor your loved ones with a gift to Haiti KONPAY. Choose from this list of gifts that will generate support in real terms, for families in Haiti today. For each gift you make, your loved one will recieve a photo-card (see images below the shopping list) with a description of the grassroots action we will take on their behalf, along with a *memento to remember Haiti throughout the year. • $10 purchases one egg-laying chicken (we need 1,000)
• $20 plants ten trees
• $30 buys one steel drum for alternative charcoal briquette production (we need 10)
• $100 covers one day of training, capacity building, site visits or reporting
• $175 purchases one digital camera with memory card for a representative of the Haitian
  National Coalition for the Environment (KNAA - we need 12)
• $225 a tree planting event on Earth Day in 2010, with 200 volunteers planting 1,000 trees
• $250 will feed 100 chickens for one month, producing 3,000 eggs
• $385 to sponsor a student for one year of school, including tuition, uniform and books
